Commissioner of Police, Lagos State Police Command, Mr Edgar Imohimi on Thursday rescued an unnamed 11-year-old girl who had been locked up and left unfed in a poorly ventilated apartment.

Reports gathered disclosed that the Commissioner acted on tip off by some concerned neighbours who reported the alleged abuse of the young girl.

The little girl was rescued at No 12 Badein Street, Mafoloku, Oshodi area of Lagos. Shortly after rescuing the girl, CP Imohimi stated that jail term awaits anyone found culpable of abusing the right of a chil, women and all vulnerable ones in the State.

It was gathered that the little gorl, simply identified as Precious was brought into Lagos State from her village, Umunze, Orumba LGA of Anambra State on a promise that she will be treated to a better life. She has since been handed over to the Social Welfare Department of Lagos State Government. Also, her guardian (name witheld) was immediately arrested on the orders of the Police Commissioner.
