Lagos Police Charge Six To Court For Pirating Toyin Abraham’s Movie ‘Malaika’

The Lagos State Police Command has charged six suspects in court for allegedly pirating popular Nollywood actress’, Toyin Abraham’s, latest film, “Malaika.”

It was gathered that since the release of “Malaika”, which was premiered in Lagos on December 17, 2023, and made its nationwide theatrical debut on December 22, Abraham has been facing frustration, battling against the piracy of her movie.

This was because her movie was illegally leaked online, causing significant financial losses for Abraham and the movie’s producers.

However, according to Leadership, the police arrested six suspects, identified as Kehinde Oseni, Adekunle Segun, Adebiyi Sodiq, Oseni S. Akano, Agboola Motunrayo, and Adebiyi Suliat.

They faced charges of stealing intellectual property, conspiracy, and attempting to obstruct justice on Wednesday, January 31st, at the Chief Magistrate Court 1 in Tinubu.
