“Lagos Plays Significant Role In Sustaining The Yoruba Culture”- Ambode On Ooni Visit At Lagos House

The Governor of Lagos State today received in audience the 51st Ooni of Ife, His Imperial Majesty, Oba Alayeluwa, Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi Ojaja II at the State House, Alausa, Ikeja some moments ago.

This is the first visit of the Ooni to the Lagos State Governor since he ascend the throne.

While receiving the prominent traditional ruler in the Yoruba Land, Governor Ambode revealed that the State indeed plays a significant role in sustaining thee heritage of the Yoruba race.

He said, “Lagos State plays a very significant role in sustaining the beautiful and rich cultural heritage of the Yoruba race.

“Our administration will uphold the values and cultural integrity of our people.”

While the Ooni presented his gift which he is synonymous with whenever on such visit, the Governor also presented him a gift which signifies the traditional ruler’s trip to Lagos. See pictures below…

The Ooni’s gift (a frame with images of items synonymous to the Yoruba race.) Oba Ogunwusi ocean hinted that his gifts are 100% local produce.
The Governor as he presented the Statue of Eyo Masquerade to the Ooni. (The Eyo Masquerade is a prominent festival in the history of Lagos State)
