Following several reports making rounds on social media about a recruitment exercise organised by the Lagos State Neighbourhood Agency (LSNA), the Agency has decided to clear the air on the matter.

The General Manager of LSNA, Prince Dr. Ifalade Oyekan in a statement, described the stories as false.

The agency stated that no one is expected to pay money to anyone regarding the exercise as it has not and will not appoint any middleman in the process because the agency will only follow laid down procedures for Law Enforcement Officers while maintaining global standards.

The statement made available to Blackbox Nigeria reads in part, “We strongly believe that the rumour must have been started by those who visited our website and opened the “Career Portal” which is a standard feature on most business minded organisations’ website. However, during the construction, the portal was not closed to traffic and some people must have had access to the page then.”

It continued, “It is true that Mr Governor intends to recruit more Personnel into the Agency as some of our personnel were deployed to the “Special Constabulary” as part of the Administration’s effort to continuously put in every investment that will ensure the stability of our Neighbourhoods with a view to not just reaching the Greater and better Lagos vision, but reaching the goal in style and on time.”

The Agency stated that the exercise has not commenced and will not be concealed from the public when it is finally approved by the Lagos State Governor.

“We are extremely delighted at the level of enthusiasm attracted from the Public spurred by the viral but unfortunately incorrect News as we remain committed to gaining a deeper trust that will keep our communities and neighbourhoods safe and secured as we continue to collaborate with the good people of Lagos State,” the statement added.
