The Lagos State Government has appointed the suspended Chairman of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW) in the state, Musiliu Akinsanya popularly known as MC Oluomo to head the newly established Parks Management Committee.
Gbenga Omotoso, the State Commissioner for Information & Strategy, made this known in a statement on Thursday morning, saying the Committee will oversee the affairs of all motor parks and garages in the state.
He said the development was in fulfillment of the Government’s promise to ensure that events in the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW) are not allowed to threaten law and order.
“The Government has, therefore, exercised its constitutional powers to ensure that no vacuum, which can disrupt the peace of our dear state, is allowed to exist in the parks. This is a duty we owe all Lagosians and visitors,” Omotoso added.
Members of the Committee include Mr. Hakeem Odumosu (AIG Rtd), Government Liaison Officer; Alh Musiliu Ayinde Akinsanya Chairman; Alh Sulyman B. Ojora, Deputy Chairman, and Dr. Taiwo Olufemi Salaam, Secretary.
Others include Comrade Olayiwola Lemboye, Alh Mustapha Adekunle, Alh Ganiyu Shittu, Alh Mukaila Runsewe, Alh Sulyman Yusuf, Alh Mufutau Mutiu, Alh Yinka Hassan, Alh Sunday Ogunleye, Alh Moshood Omojowa, Alh Ismaila Aigoro, and Alh Ibrahim Yusuf. O.
Also appointed were Alh Akeem Tijani, Mrs Omolabake Adelakun, Comrade Kazeem Hassan, Alh Wasiu Amole, Alh Ganiyu Ayinde, Anthony Adeyinka Adeboye, John Victor Owolabi, Saburi Salami, Ibrahim Onitiju, and Odusanya Gbenga.
The statement added that members of the committee are to report to the Ministry of Transportation, Alausa Secretariat, Ikeja.
