Lagos LG Polls: Motunrayo Gbadebo-Alogba In Early Lead As Ijede LCDA Votes For New Chairman

 

The Chairmanship candidate of All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ijede Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Motunrayo Gbadebo-Alogba is showing prospect of winning the council seat in Ijede as results from the 19 polling units in Ijede LCDA starts trickling in.

With the unofficial results from Polling Units,  004 – Reading Room, 017 – Aiyetoro, 001 – Oju-Ogun, 008 – Egbin Thermal 2, 005 – Ipagan Village, 010 – Abule-Eko, 003 – Oke Igbehin, 006 – Community Hall, Egbin, 009 – Oke Eletu I, 014 – Anglican Primary School I, 015 – Anglican Primary School II, 002 – Ebute Street, 011 – Igbopa, 012 – Anwarul-Islam Primary School I,  already announced, Gbadebo-Alogba can be said to be in a comfortable position to be called the next Chairman of Ijede LCDA defeating his closest rival, Afinah Lookman Adewale of the Peoples Democratic Party.

 

In Polling Unit 004 Reading Room, Gbadebo-Alogba has 207 votes to Adewale’s 06 votes. In Aiyetoro, Polling Unit 017, Gbadebo-Alogba’s APC had 164 votes while Adewale of PDP had 12 votes.  

In Egbin Thermal 2, Motunrayo Gbadebo-Alogba was able to garner  33 votes to Adewale’s 7 votes. For Ipakan Village, Gbadebo-Alogba had 113 votes to 10 votes for the PDP.  While in Oke-Igbehin, APC had 143 to PDP 27; Community Hall – Egbin, APC 188, PDP 5; Oke Eletu APC 352, PDP 42; Abule-Eko, APC 236, PDP 35; Anglican Primary School I, APC 163, PDP 3; Anglican Primary School II, APC 127, PDP 7; Ebute Street, APC 148, PDP 13; Igbopa APC 91, PDP 12; Anwarul-Islam Primary School I, APC 225, PDP 8, while waiting for additional 5 polling results.

 

So far, Motunrayo Gbadebo-Alogba of APC  has an unofficial 2,380 votes as against Adewale of PDP’s 173. 

 

Speaking with BlackBox Nigeria, Motunrayo Gbadebo-Alogba at her polling unit in 016 – Madan, expressed confidence in the electoral process while assuring the electorates that she would strive to ensure a new dimension of governance in Ijede LCDA.

“The turnout of voters here that I am voting is quite encouraging, it shows our people are getting conscious of their civic responsibilities and willing to be part of the process to bring Ijede LCDA to greater heights, ” she said.
