The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Lagos State has won all the chairmanship seats in all the 20 Local Government Areas (LGAs) and 37 Local Council Development Areas (LCDAs) in the state, following the official results of the just-concluded local government polls.
The ruling party only lost two councilorship seats, winning 375 out of 377 total seats across 20 LGs and 37 LCDAs.
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) won Ward G in Yaba LCDA, while the Young Progressive Party (YPP) won Ward D in Orile-Agege LCDA, according to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN).
On Tuesday, the Certificates of Return were presented to the PDP Councillor-elect, Adeshola Thomas, and the YPP Councillor-elect, Omotunde Abdul-Kareem, at the LASIEC headquarters in Sabo, Yaba.
Meanwhile Lagos State governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has officially swore in the newly-elected 57 council chairmen in the state, comprising of 20 local governments and 37 local council development areas, LCDAs.
