By The past few weeks have been a torture for inhabitants of Ikorodu axis of the Lagos metropolis as heavy traffic has become an albatross to road users.
BlackBox Nigeria can authoritatively report that the traffic jam is being caused by damaged portions of the Ketu axis of the road.
With daily stress being faced by the people, the government has finally reacted to the traffic menace stating that something will be done very soon as appropriate agency has been mandated to effect repair of the damaged part of the road.
In a statement by the Majority Leader of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Hon. SOB Agunbiade, Governor Akinwumi Ambode “has intervened and directed the appropriate agency to effect repair expeditiously.”
His statement read “I have knowledge of our current traffic challenge and unpleasant experience on Ikorodu-Ketu road, owing to some damaged portions thereon. We are in it together, daily!”
“We have been on the matter and there has been palliative efforts in the past weeks which impact was made ineffectual by ceaseless downpour. However, the Governor has intervened and directed the appropriate agency to effect repair expeditiously.”
“I feel your stress and pains of last few days, but can only plead for your endurance and a little more patience, while praying fervently for favourable weather to allow for immediate repair and lasting relief.“
