The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Lagos East Senatorial District has unanimously endorsed Senator Mukhail Adetokunbo Abiru as the party’s consensus candidate following a large-scale affirmation exercise held across the district on Monday.
The exercise, which took place at Ikorodu Town Hall and other designated venues in Somolu, Kosofe, Ibeju-Lekki and Epe local government areas, witnessed a significant turnout of party faithful, delegates and stakeholders.
The endorsement further underscores Abiru’s strong standing within the ruling party ahead of the next electoral cycle.
Reacting to the development, the senator expressed gratitude to party leaders, women, youths and members of the APC across Lagos East for their support and confidence in his leadership.
Abiru described the turnout and endorsement as a sign of unity and shared commitment to the continued development of the senatorial district and Lagos State.
“I am deeply humbled by this overwhelming show of love, loyalty and support. The solidarity displayed today reflects our collective commitment to the growth and progress of Lagos East and Lagos State,” he said.
The lawmaker also commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his leadership and dedication to the ideals of the APC, saying his style of governance continues to inspire many political office holders nationwide.
According to Abiru, the endorsement belongs to all party members and residents who believe in the vision for a better Lagos East.
“This victory is not mine alone. It belongs to every committed party member and resident who believes in our shared vision for a more prosperous Lagos East,” he stated.
He reaffirmed his commitment to quality representation, people-focused governance and sustained development across the district.
“By the grace of God, I will continue to deliver impactful representation and work for the advancement of our people and communities,” Abiru added.
