Labour Party’s Chairman, Julius Abure Arrested In Benin for Fraud

The national chairman of Labour Party, Mr Julius Abure has been arrested in Benin City by the Edo State Police Command for his alleged involvement in fraud.

Abure’s arrest was confirmed by the police on Wednesday for Fraud and other Financial crimes.

It was gathered that he allegedly embezzled over N3.5 billion in party finances.

His arrest was also connected to allegations of planned attempted murder and other suspected violations.

Images and visuals have emerged on social media, showing Abure seated on the floor before he was taken away in a vehicle by the policemen.

The circumstances behind his arrest remain unclear, however it was strongly believed to be connected to the recent crisis rocking the party.

More details are yet to emerge regarding this developing situation.
