It is no longer news that award-winning Nigerian filmmaker, Kunle Afolayan has commenced filming of his newest movie, ‘Ijogbon’.
Afolayan disclosed this via an Instagram post on Wednesday, while sharing pictures from the set of the movie.
‘Ijogbon’, a joint project of Afolayan’s KAP Motion Pictures and streaming platform Netflix, tells the story of four teenagers from a rural village, who stumbled on a bag full of diamonds and concealed it, which later caused them to regret.
Starring in the movie are veterans Samuel Dedetoku popularly known as Sam Dede who starred in the popularly ‘Isakaba’ movie of the early 2000s and Falz’s recent ‘Brotherhood’ movie; Bimbo Manuel who featured in Kemi Adetiba’s ‘King Of Boys: The Return’ among other movies he had worked on; actor Yemi Solade who featured in ‘Oloture’, and Ex-BBNaija’s housemate, Dorathy Bachor.
Other cast include his brother, Gabriel Afolayan, Tana Adelana, Yemi Sodimu, Femi Branch, Adunni Ade, Dorathy of BBNaija fame, Funky Mallam, amongst others.
BlackBox Nigeria had earlier reported that Fawaz Aina of internet sensation group, Ikorodu Bois, will also be getting a lead role in the highly anticipated movie.
Ijogbon was written by award-winning scriptwriter Tunde Babalola, who wrote the script of Citation, October 1, The Meeting, Mokalik, among other projects.
