In a recent interview with DJ Akademiks, American rapper Kanye West has criticized his fellow artists for their lack of business sense, stating that they need to learn from Nigerians, Jews, Chinese, and Indians.

West, known for his outspoken views, claimed that many U.S. rappers rely too heavily on foreign investors and lawyers to manage their careers, rather than taking control of their own financial and business decisions.

“None of these rappers are as smart as me,” West said. “They can’t even count, bro.”

West also pointed out that Jewish lawyers and investors control most record labels and TV networks in the U.S., challenging his fellow artists to take greater ownership of their careers and build their own enterprises instead of relying on external investors.

However, West praised Nigerian creatives and entrepreneurs for taking charge of their own businesses. “Until motherf*kers can really get their stuff together like the Nigerians, the Chinese, the Jewish or like the tech Indian or some sht, everything I’m saying counts,” he added.

West’s comments have sparked a heated debate in the music industry, with some artists defending their business skills and others acknowledging the need for greater financial literacy.

The interview has also highlighted the success of Nigerian artists such as Burna Boy, Wizkid, and Davido, who have achieved international recognition while maintaining control over their music and brands.
