Just In: Lagos East, other bye-elections rescheduled to Dec. 5

The independent National Electoral Commission, INEC has confirmed Saturday, December 5th, 2020 for the conduct of 15 bye-elections in 11 states.

In a statement by the National Commissioner on Information and Voter Education, Cestus Okoye, INEC disclosed the December 5 was reached after due consultations with political parties, civil society organisations, the media and other stakeholders.

One of the most anticipated of the 15 bye-elections is the Lagos East Senatorial election which has former Polaris Bank MD, Tokunbo Abiru of the APC going head to head with real estate mogul, Babatunde Gbadamosi. The election follows the death of Bayo Osinowo who died of Covid-19 complications.
