The Speaker of the Imo State House of Assembly, Paul Emeziem has been impeached.
BlackBox Nigeria learnt that the lawmakers carried out the exercise on Monday morning, replacing Emeziem with the member representing Obowo constituency, Kennedy Ibe.
It was said that 19 legislators of the 27-member parliament signed the impeachment papers.
According to the lawmakers, the Speaker was impeached on allegations of gross misconduct, forgery, abuse of office, and high-handedness.
Report also has it that the purportedly impeached Deputy Speaker, Amara Iwuanyanwu spearheaded the process amid tight security.
