The Academic Staff Union of Universities has suspended the 8 months old Strike conditionally.
According to The PUNCH, the decision was made at the end of the National Executive Council meeting held in Abuja on Thursday.
Though the official statement by the union has not been released, a respected source told The PUNCH that the strike has been suspended according to the meeting.
The source said, “the president will release an official circular in the morning”.
Speaking with Blackbox Nigeria in a phone call this morning, the Chairman of ASUU in Adekunle Ajasin University, Prof. Simeon Ehiabhi confirmed that the strike has been suspended, adding that the union will soon release official statement
The Academic Staff Union of Universities has been on strike since February 14, rolling it over and over until it was declared indefinite.
