Just In: Crisis Looms In Abuja As Armed Officials Prevent EFCC From Arresting Wanted Leaders
Fresh reports from the nation’s capital has revealed that there’s a looming crisis in Asokoro district as armed guards attached to former boss of National Intelligence Agency, Ambassador Ayo Oke and former Head of State Security Service, Ita Ekpeyong prevented operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission from arresting their bosses.
BlackBox Nigeria gathered that attempts by the EFCC and its Police officers to arrest the former heads were resisted at their individual houses located in Mamman Nasir street, Asokoro.
This restriction has since caused a stand off between the EFCC officials and officers of the two agencies which have caused a traffic mayhem in the area.
It will be recalled that the EFCC had at different intervals invited the former Intelligence boss for his involvement in the cash recovered at an Ikoyi apartment, but he has never responded to any of the invitations.
The discovery also led to the termination of his appointment by President Muhammadu Buhari.
