The Judicial Staff Union of Nigeria (JUSUN) on Wednesday called off its nationwide industrial action after an emergency National Executive Council meeting.
According to a communique issued by the union after the meeting signed by the Deputy President, Emmanuel Abioye and the General Secretary, Isaiah Adetola, the NEC resolved to suspend the stike following extensive discussions and the intervention of the National Judicial Council (NJC) and other stakeholders.
The leadership of JUSUN commended the efforts of the NJC in making sure that the governors obey the Memorandum of Agreement, and the judgment on the financial autonomy of the judiciary.
The union also commended the Chief Justice of Nigeria, and the heads of courts for their patience and understanding throughout the period of the strike.
JUSUN had on April 6 commenced an indefinite nationwide strike over the non-implementation of financial autonomy for the judiciary in the states.
