Jubilation as Igbogbo/Baiyeku LCDA partners CDC, dredgers to commence palliative on Baiyeku road

Residents of Igbogbo/Baiyeku in Ikorodu can now heave a sigh of relief over the deplorable state of the Baiyeku road following the intervention of the council’s leadership.

In a public private partnership, the LCDA collaborated with the Community Development Committee (CDC) and the Dredgers Association of Nigeria, Baiyeku Branch, commenced palliative exercise on the road.

The effort was considered by the stakeholders to make the road motorable before the Lagos State Government resumes the wholistic construction of the road.

The Vice Chairman of the LCDA, Hon. Nuraini Oke-Maja, who visited the site on Friday, in company of the Chief of Staff, Hon. Ade Bolowotan, and the Council Engineer, Mr. Segun Orelesi, commended the co-operation of the CDC and dredger association.

A supervisor from Leigh & Lloyd, Mr. Temitope Oladipupo, speaking on the intervention, said, “The dredger association considered their involvement in the palliative exercise as their lawful corporate social responsibility (CSR) and mechanism to ease their service delivery.”

According to the CDC Vice Chairman, Engr. Ilara, it has become imperative for the community to be directly involved in community building and development. He added that this informed why the association rallied stakeholders to be part of the palliative exercise.

Engr. Ilara, a retired engineer with the Lagos State Ministry of Works, disclosed that the exercise will span for two weeks.
