Jigawa State House of Assembly today unseated it’s Speaker, Hon Idris Garba after 25 out of the 30 lawmakers signed a petition against him.
According to a report by Daily Post, the signed Petition was read by the Deputy Speaker, Hon Ahmed Garba who declared the seat vacant.
The Deputy Speaker said it was constitutionally right to declare the seat vacant after over two-third of the lawmakers had signed petition to remove the Speaker.
He also presided over the House as new election was conducted.
After the election, Hon Isa Idris was announced as the new Speaker.
Hon Idris represents the Gwaram State Constituency at the Assembly.
