The United Kingdom is aiming at tightening the rules on how many relatives migrants can bring into the country.

According to Daily Mail, UK, “it has been discovered that Nigerian migrants bring in the highest number of dependents when compared to other groups of migrants.”

The UK Home secretary, Suella Braverman is considering tightening the rules on dependents as this is coming after Home Office Immigration figures showed a startling inconsistency across different nationalities coming to the UK to work and study.

The Nigeria Immigration Service, NIS, revealed that the number of passports issued had risen by 38% between 2020 and 2021, which was an increase from 767,164 to 1,059,607 passports issued in 2020 and 2021 respectively.

More so, the UK Immigration Office said, this is the highest record they had in their time series with a substantial increase.
