January 2nd Helicopter Crash:  Do You Know That Pilot In Command Died 24 Days After Marriage

The nation’s military was thrown into mourning a day after the New Year’s celebration when the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) confirmed that five of its officials died in a helicopter crash. The ill-fated day may have come and gone but the marks of pain it leaves behind is still very fresh especially to the family of the Pilot in Command, Flight Lieutenant Perowei Jacob .

Black Box Nigeria gathered that Flight Lieutenant Pereowei Jacob, a member of the 58th Regular Course from the Nigerian Defence Academy (NDA) got married on the 8th of December 2018 and he died on the 2nd of January 2019,  thereby making his wife a widow 24 days after one of the most wonderful day in her life.

 

One will recall that the Nigerian Air Force on the 2nd of January while providing closed air support with its Mi-35M Helicopter to troops of 145 Battallion, Damasak in Borno State lost 5 of its air personnel to a crash. The deceased personal aside the Pilot in Command are; Flight Lieutenant Kaltho Paul Kilyofas, the Co-Pilot, Sergeant Auwal Ibrahim, the Flight Technician, Lance Corporal Adamu Nura, a Gunner and Aircraftman Meshack Ishmael another Gunner.
