‘It’s Injustice’ – Nasarawa Residents Protest Over Gov. Sule’s Removal

Supporters of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and those loyal to Governor Sule took to the streets to express displeasure over what they called injustice done to the governor by the Tribunal.

It was gathered that protests have started in Akwanga and some other parts of Nasarawa State over the judgment of the Governorship Election Petition Tribunal (GEPT) in Lafia.

It would be recalled that the Tribunal on Monday, 2nd of October 2023, ruled that Ombugadu of the Peoples Democratic Party was the lawful winner of the March 18 elections.

As a result of this, the incumbent Governor has been rendered as an illegitimate occupant of the gubernatorial seat in the state.

Dissatisfied with the verdict, the APC and Sule did not concur to the judgement and instructed its legal team to proceed to the appellate court for an appeal.

In support of the Governor, some party stakeholders took to the streets of Akwanga LG for a solidarity march, carrying banners with several inscriptions.
