Investment Will Flourish In Nigeria If Infrastructure Is Improved- Toyin Saraki

Founder and President of the WellBeing Foundation Africa, Mrs Toyin Ojora Saraki has disclosed that a boost in infrastructure will result to increase in investment in Nigeria and Africa at large.

She made this disclosure at Panel themed; “The Role of Government in Fostering Homegrown Philanthropy” at the 2017 Annual African Philantropy Forum Conference.

The event which was held in Lagos on Monday was themed “African Philanthropy in a Changing Global Context” and had the likes of the Director of Special Projects, Office of the President, African Development Bank, Sipho Moyo; the Liberian Minister of Education, George K. Werner; the Executive Secretary, Lagos State Employment Trust Fund, Akintunde Oyebode, moderated by Jane Wales, CEO, Global Philanthropy Forum & World Affairs.

She said, “The lack of investment in infrastructure in Africa has reduced our ability to trade with the rest of the world and has had an impact on the buoyancies of economies across Africa, as large multinational businesses look to engage with countries with more advanced infrastructure.

Addressing this infrastructure gap is a key step to creating an environment in which philanthropy and investment can flourish.”
