Lagos most talked-about lawmaker, Desmond Olusola Elliot has been tipped as the next Deputy Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly after the general elections next year.
BlackBox Nigeria reliably gathered that Elliot, who is the most popular and influential Lagos lawmaker has been billed to replace the current Deputy Speaker, Wasiu Sanni Eshilokun in the next dispensation of the Assembly.
Eshilokun is not returning to the Lagos Assembly as he has won the APC ticket to contest for the Lagos Central Senatorial District in 2023 general elections.
A Surulere constituent and aide to the lawmaker disclosed that all is set for the actor-turned-politician to become the Deputy Speaker if he wins the election next year and returned as lawmaker.
Elliot, before joining politics, is an household name in the Nigerian movie industry, Nollywood as an actor and movie director.
He was first elected into the Lagos State House of Assembly in 2015 to represent Surulere Constituency 1 and was reelected in 2019. In the recently concluded primary elections, he clinched the APC ticket unopposed to seek a third term in office.
