The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has left the Adamawa guber candidates in a tight spot following the declaration of the March 11 governorship election as inconclusive.

Sitting governor and candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Ahmadu Fintiri had been on the verge of celebrating his win in the election after triumphing over 13 of the 21 Local Government Areas in the state before the Commission declared the election as inconclusive.

This declaration was made because the number of collected PVCs at over 37,000 is more than the margin of lead for Fintiri over his challenger, Aishatu Ahmed popularly known as Binani of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Following this, a new date will be fixed for re-runs in areas where elections could not be held in the state.

Meanwhile, Fintiri had been leading with a total of 421,524 votes while his close opponent Binani had 390,275 votes.
