Imo State Has A Special Place In My Government- Buhari Reveals
President Muhammadu Buhari on Friday assured the people of Imo State that under hi leadership, the State has a special space in terms of governance.
He made this known inside the Owerrri Government House at the 50th Birthday celebration of First Lady of the State, Mrs Nkechi Rochas Okorocha, where he was represented by the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Boss Mustapha.
Mustapha eulogised Okorocha’s wife on her numerous achievements in philanthropism as he joined in the celebration of her golden jubilee.
He said, “While I was coming to Imo State, President Buhari specifically directed me f to Imo people that they have a special place in his heart. We have come to celebrate with you as well as share in the joy. So, we should see what is happening s God’s grace in our lives.”
According to the Vice President, Prof Yemi Osibanjo, “I am always fascinated with the quality of philanthropy of Mrs Nkechi Okorocha, we remember She needs a Roof Project, initiated by Okorocha’s wife, and I want to tell you that this is the kind of philanthropy we describe as development philanthropy that gives hope to our people.”
In his remarks, Governor Rochas Okorocha, of Imo state, was of the opinion that time has come to hand over power to women.
Okorocha said, “My marriage is both spiritual and natural. I make bold to say that I have one of the best families in the whole world. She has changed the stories of women.
“As I was in the vehicle with the Vice President, he said to me that if my stands for an election with me that she will win. And I want to say this if comes out she will win.
“Our wives have come together irrespective of the political parties and while we are fighting they are busy doing things together. I want to say this, this time around we should give power to women.”
Other dignitaries that graced the Okorocha’s birthday celebration, included the representative of the Wife of the President, Mrs. Gimbiya Dogara, Governor of Abia state, Okezie Ikpeazu, Minister of Labour and Productivity, Mr. Chris Ngige, Minister of Communication, Barr. Adebayo Shittu, Chief Emmanuel Iwuanyawu, as well as wives of governors.
