In a bid to empower its members and equip them with the  resources needed to thrive in Nigeria’s dynamic economic landscape, the Ikorodu High School Alumni 03 Set hosted an online seminar via WhatsApp on Saturday, April 27th, 2024, with the “Navigating Nigeria’s Economic Landscape: Identifying Lucrative Investment Opportunities For Small Scale Businesses”.

The President of the Association, Sulaimon Mojeed-Sanni, set the tone for the seminar by introducing Pastor Adebayo, a seasoned Publisher, counsellor and realtor based in Maryland, USA, highlighting his entrepreneurial journey and his invaluable contributions to the business world.

The Guest Speaker wasted no time in delving into the intricacies of navigating Nigeria’s economic terrain. With a focus on identifying profitable investment avenues for small-scale businesses, Pastor Oteju captivated participants with his wealth of experience and practical insights.

In a thought-provoking manner, Oteju asserted to members that their net worth is the sum total of their network.  “Your net worth is your network,” Oteju said while emphasising the importance of cultivating meaningful connections built on proven integrity in the business world. He also challenged attendees to harness the power of “Other People’s Money” (OPM) within their environment, urging them to explore innovative ways of financing their ventures.

The high point of the seminar which wasn’t only about theory was the pledge to facilitate interest-free business loans to entrepreneurs who joined the seminar. In his magnanimity, the facilitator also offered to mentor members and facilitate product purchases to support members.

In the closing remark delivered by Modupe Isaac-Solate, Vice President of the Ikorodu High School ’03 Set Alumni Association, she expressed gratitude for the invaluable insights gained from the seminar. She also underscored the importance of self-reliance and praised the initiative for providing participants with lifelong skills and strategies for success.

Overall, the IHS Small Scale Business Support Seminar served as a beacon of hope for aspiring entrepreneurs, offering them a roadmap to navigate Nigeria’s economic landscape with confidence and resilience. As attendees implement the lessons learned, they are poised to make indelible marks in the business world, driving economic growth and prosperity for themselves and their communities.
