As the tenure of the current Ikorodu Oga Development Association (IKODASS) executive, led by Mr. Rotimi Erogbogbo, approaches its end, Alhaji Fatai Kolawole Olayiwola Ogunfodunrin, popularly known as “De Groom,” has formally declared his intention to vie for the position of Chairman.
Ogunfodunrin, who previously served as Deputy Chairman under Otunba Ganiu Olusegun Abiru from 2017 to 2021, made his interest known during the Annual General Meeting held on Saturday, April 19, 2025.
In his letter of intent, Ogunfodunrin, a former Customs Officer and the current Vice Chairman of Ikorodu Chamber of Commerce and Industries (LCCI) stated:
“I humbly write to request your support for my emergence as the next Chairman of Ikorodu Oga Development Association (IKODASS). My name is Alh. Kolawole Olayiwola Fatai, a native of Ikorodu from the Oke-Yesufu Ogunfodunrin Compound in Ijomu and Adifa-Kuti Family of Aga respectively. I strongly believe that, with my background as a retired Customs Officer and businessman of almost 20 years, I possess the requisite experience and passion required to serve the good people of Ikorodu as the next IKODASS Chairman.”
Ogunfodunrin emphasized his commitment to community development and his readiness to lead IKODASS into a new era of growth and inclusivity. He called upon stakeholders, residents, and all sons and daughters of Ikorodu to support his candidacy, stating:
“I am counting on your robust support towards making this dream a reality, for the benefit of all Ikorodu sons and daughters as well as residents alike. Let’s join hands to uplift Ikorodu and IKODASS to greater heights. The time is now!”
As the electoral process unfolds, the community awaits the emergence of leadership that will continue to drive the development and cultural heritage of Ikorodu.
