Ikorodu Ambassador Spokesman, Rasheed Fatuga Distances Self From Jungle Killing In Ikorodu

The spokesman and founder of Ikorodu Ambassador group, a community development focused movement, Rasheed Fatuga has distanced himself and the group from the extra judicial killing that happened in the town recently.

While making a post on the official Facebook page of the group, Fatuga averred that, “jungle justice or Mob justice is a form of public extra judicial killings, where an alleged criminal is humiliated, beaten, or summarily executed by a crowd or vigilantes.”

Noting that this form of street justice occurs where there is a dysfunctional and corrupt judiciary system and law enforcement lacks credibility.

He declared that as the spokesman for Ikorodu Ambassador group, he is not in support of such mob action while calling on citizens to always exercise restraints and not take the laws into their hands.

“I am the Spokesperson, Commander of the Aluta Forces of the Ikorodu Ambassadors Group. Note, no protest, demonstration of the movement will be done in the name of the group without my consent.

“I am using this medium to debunk the story spreading around that Ikorodu Ambassadors Group supports Jungle Justice in Ikorodu.
No! No! and No!
We do not support it, We say #NoToJungleJustice . Although, the system (Police, SARS and co) has failed us, but we do not need to take laws into our hands, we are Role Models. Let’s do the Right Thing always!
#ProudlyIkoroduAmbassadors,” he wrote in his Facebook post.
