Ikorodu Agog As It Holds 26th Ikorodu-Oga Day Grand Finale (PICTURES)

The magnificent palace of the paramount ruler of Ikorodu played host to the Grand Finale of the 2017 Ikorodu-Oga Day celebration. The event had the creme de la creme of the Division as well as invited top personalities.

The traditional ruler, Oba Kabiru Olawale Shotobi played host to the handful of guests who had thronged the palace for the lively occasion. The event was totally packaged by the Otunba Ganiyu Abiru-led Ikorodu-Oga Development Association (IKODASS) team.

The new team of IKODASS also used the moment to decorate it’s newly appointed Patron of the Association in the person of Engineer Olukayode Anibaba who was on ground with his well wishers to receive the honour.

Prominent individuals from different works of life were also awarded in different categories, among them is Chief Steve Anifowose, who was also the Chairman of the event. He was presented his plaque by Hon Babajimi Benson (Ikorodu Federal Constituency).

Also awarded was mother of the Majority Leader of the House of Representatives, Hon Femi Gbajabiamila, Alhaja Lateefat Gbajabiamila for her ground breaking achievements over the years. She was awarded by the IKODASS as the Mother of the Day for the 2017 Grand Finale ceremony.

The high point of the event was when the 2017 Merit Award winner was announced as Hon Sanai Bolanle Agunbiade (Ikorodu Constituency 1), Majority Leader of the Lagos State House of Assembly and Opomulero Of Ikorodu. He was accompanied to the podium with his wife.

He was supported by fellow lawmakers, Hon Lateef Abiru (Somolu Constituency II) and Hon Desmond Elliot (Surulere Constituenct I) and other invited guests who also joined in the celebrations.

Clubs, associations and other societies were allowed to pay homage to the paramount ruler of Ikorodu, Oba Shotobi. Among them was the Ndi’Igbo community in Ikorodu. They also joined in the celebration of the Day.

Apart from the roll of activities going on in the Palace, the popular Ikorodu Town Hall was filled with residents, most of them adorned in the selected Ankara materials all enjoined the Grand Finale. The whole town was filled with fun which was until late.
