Ikeja court convicts woman for N47m fraud

One Adanu Blessing Ajumi has been convicted by Justice Mojisola Dada of the Special Offences Court sitting in Ikeja Lagos for N47m fraud.

Ajumi had allegedly hidden under the disguise of Emerald Multipurpose Cooperative Society to defraud her victims in a purported agribusiness scheme.

This was revealed by The Economic and Financial Crime Commission (EFCC) in a post shared via their Twitter page on Monday.

The anti-graft agency further disclosed that Ajumi had been charged with two counts bordering on obtaining money by false pretence contrary to Section (1) and (3) of the Advance Fee Fraud and Other Fraud Related Offences Act 200, and stealing, contrary to Section 278 and 285 of the Criminal Law of Lagos 2011.
