Ijede LCDA Graduates 357 Students from Skill Acquisition Centre, Plans To Alleviate Poverty

In a moment of triumph, Ijede LCDA celebrated the graduation of 357 students from its Skill Acquisition Centre in Igbe-Ogunro, marking a significant step towards community development and poverty alleviation.

Hon. Motunrayo Gbadebo-Alogba, the esteemed Executive Chairman of Ijede LCDA, joyfully announced the successful completion of training by 356 youths at the Igbe-Ogunro Skills Acquisition Centre for the 2022 and 2023 editions.

During the annual graduation ceremony held at the Ijede LCDA Secretariat, Hon. Gbadebo-Alogba emphasized the profound significance of this initiative as a cornerstone of poverty alleviation strategies.

This commitment aims to fulfill the purpose of learning and empower the youth with tangible skills for economic independence.

Delighted to share the news of the empowerment of these students, the Chairman provided them with essential start-up equipment.

She further encouraged the graduates to leverage the skills acquired as a means of livelihood, fostering a sustainable impact on their lives.

Hon. Saheed Hassan expressed that the ceremony marks a new phase of life for the dedicated graduates who demonstrated unwavering commitment throughout their training, showcasing resilience and determination.

Commending the council for its dedication to addressing the needs of the youth, Alhaji Ajetunmobi Radaq acknowledged the challenges posed by the high cost of the empowerment equipment.

The program’s highlights included the distribution of various items such as sewing machines, makeup kits, sterilizing kits for barbing salons, generators, hair dryers, Tile Cutter, Kenwood Hand Mixer, production chemicals, wigs, attachments, among others.

The diverse vocational training programs at the center encompassed fashion designing, bead making, makeup and gele tying, catering, hairdressing, cosmetology, tiles and paving, production, entrepreneurship, barbing, among others.
