By No fewer than 198 students of the Vocational Training Center, Igbe-Ogunro in Ijede LCDA, on Thursday, graduated in style, as part of activities lined up for the 2021 NULGE week which kicked off on Wednesday.
The Executive Chairman of Ijede LCDA, Motunrayo Gbadebo-Alogba, alongside her team, joined the department of Women Affairs and Poverty Alleviation to celebrate the graduands.
The Council Boss, in her remarks, expressed gratitude to God for the opportunity to fulfill her desire to impact people, describing the event as a manifestation of her administration’s commitment to ensure job creation and poverty alleviation in Ijede LCDA.
Gbadebo-Alogba also noted that in a society where low standard of living and poverty have become a hydra headed scourge, it takes little financial inducement to be lured into crime. She stated that having known this, her administration is focused on empowering youths from Ijede LCDA to be gainfully engaged.
While presenting startup equipment to the best graduating students, she encouraged subsequent trainees to always put up their best performance as such attitude will be rewarded.
The council boss further commended the graduands for their patience and perseverance during the course of their training and assured them that their efforts will not be in vain.
Also speaking at the event, Hon. Saheed Adefarasin Hassan, a former member of the Lagos State House of Assembly, commended the Executive Chairman for the efforts she has put up within the short period of her administration.
The former lawmaker stated that Gbadebo-Alogba has an enviable ambition to improve lives of the people and reach out to the youths as a means to addressing the incessant unrest within Ijede community.
The event had in attendance the Vice Chairman of Ijede LCDA, Leader of the House and other members of the Legislative Council, Olisa of Ijede, Obateru-in-Council, Council of Baales, Grand Chief Imam Ijede Central Mosque, CAN Chairman, CDC Chairman, APC Apex Leaders, Women Leaders, among other dignitaries.
