The Executive Chairman of Ijede LCDA, Hon. Motunrayo Gbadebo-Alogba has organized a stakeholders’ meeting on security matters through the Legislative Arm of her administration with the aim of reviewing the Ikorodu Division Joint Security Task Force Bye Law.
The interactive session was aimed at strengthening the fundamental legislation on security matters with the view of improving qualitative living with less or no threat to lives and properties.
The meeting was borne out of the importance of having an established local security structure in the Local Council Development Area that will align and assist the Nigeria Police Force and other security Agencies in the maintenance of peace and order.
The proposed bill has successfully gone through the first and second readings at the legislative plenary session prior, to which the public hearing took place.
The Public hearing serves as an opportunity for well-meaning stakeholders and the general public to contribute their views, expertise and professionalism before enactment.
The Ikorodu Division Security Task Force comprises but not limited to members from existing sister bodies, which include the Onyabos, Vigilantes, Agbekoya, and the OPC.
However, the Chairman called for the support of every citizen and resident of the Council Area to assist in achieving an improved security system. “Security is everyone’s business and the protection of our lives and properties should be everyone’s concern,” she said,
