IGP deploys FCID officers after attack on Benue Governor

The Inspector–General of Police (IGP) Muhammed Adamu on Sunday requested the prompt organization of a group of investigators from the Force Criminal Investigations Department (FCID), Abuja to Benue State.

The deployment, as indicated by the IGP, is to offer extra insightful help to Benue Police Command following the assault on Governor Samuel Ortom by speculated herders on his ranch at Tyo-mu on the Makurdi-Gboko street on Saturday.

Adamu, who condemned the incident , similarly guided Benue Commissioner of Police Command to take sufficient measures towards fortifying and improving security in the State, especially around the Governor.

While calling for quiet, the IGP guaranteed the Force will keep on putting forth a valiant effort in balancing out the security circumstance.

A statement by the Force Public Relations Officer, CP Frank Mba read: “The Inspector-General of Police, IGP M.A Adamu, NPM, mni has requested full-scale examinations concerning the conditions encompassing the assault of the Executive Governor of Benue State, His Excellency, Chief Samuel Loraer Ortom, at his ranch in the edges of Makurdi, the State Capital, on Saturday, 20th March, 2021.

“The IGP has likewise explicitly coordinated the CP to complete meticulous examinations concerning the occurrence and guarantee the capture and arraignment of people indicted during the investigation.”
