Igbogbo Bayeku Gets New Police Station As Community Receives Glow Up

As Lagos state strives to get back on her feet following the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic and consequences of the END SARS movement, residents of Igbogbo bayeku are very thankful as the community receives an upgrade.

Despite having a huge population and being a major community in Ikorodu, igbogbo bayeku has had it’s fair share of lack of social amenities, insecurity and Unemployment. However due to recent development projects taking place in the community, Igbogbo bayeku community is ongoing a touch-up that will definitely make the lives of her residents better.

Some of these developments are the ongoing secretariat building, a new bank to compensate the high population and the new police station project which will be located at the community bus stop.

 

 

During an interview with the some of the residents, they stated that one of the major problems they face is insecurity. They also revealed that the community has endured several cult clashes in the past and they constantly live in fear. They also stated that robbery is a frequent occurance in the society as several business and shop have suffered great loss as they are usually targeted and burgled during the cult clashes.

According to Mr Michael Adeshoba, a resident of Igbogbo bayeku, “ one of the most serious problems the community has been facing has finally been answered. He also stated that insecurity has been one of their major issues for years and seeing a police station finally functioning properly gives the people a reason to smile.

He also commented that the ongoing secretariat building should help bring more exposure to the people and the community”.

Mr Samuel, another resident of igbogbo stated “ For some youths, crime was almost becoming the only way to survive in the community but with the new police station hopefully they will consider spending more time working than spending it at the back of a police station post”.
