Igbogbo-Baiyeku LCDA Chairman, Sesan Daini Gives Account Of Stewardship In Three Years

The Executive Chairman of Igbogbo-Baiyeku Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Builder Sesan Daini, on Monday, April 12, 2021, listed the achievements of his administration in the last 1,358 days.

Speaking at a media parley held at the new office complex built by him, Bldr Daini said that despite the meagre resources at their disposal of the council, they have been able to touch every stratum of the society resulting in the improved socio-economic development of the people of Igbogbo-Baiyeku since assuming of office in June 2017.

On security, the Chairman highlighted that his administration constructed the 63 Squadron base of the Nigeria Police Mobile Force in Igbogbo/Bayeku LCDA, inaugurated the Lagos Neighborhood Safety Corps (LNSC) to enhance community policing, presented operational vehicles to Igbogbo police station, and a Local Joint Task Force in the LCDA.

Also part of his efforts to improve on security, the Chairman said he made provision of power bikes and walkie-talkies for the Local Joint Task Force and placed 50 security officers on monthly salaries.

“We have gotten approval to open police station in both Elepe & Agunfoye communities to strengthen our security system and combat every menace. We have also provided walkie-talkies for our Joint Task Force (JTF) which is key to enhancing speedy solutions to security challenges,” he said.

Bldr Daini also stated the successes recorded in the education sector which covers the construction of a block of seven classrooms, presentation of free G.C.E forms and JAMB forms to Igbogbo/Bayeku LCDA indigenes, spelling Bee Quiz competition at the council secretariat, distribution of learning materials to primary school pupils as part of the efforts at accentuating the SDG 4, payment of Bursary awards to 100 students in 2018, 2019, award of Scholarships to five(5) Students, among others.

On health, he listed a number of achievements; facilitation of a new PHC at Majoda Ibeshe by Rep. Babajimi Benson, commissioning of block of maternity wards at Bayeku Primary Health Center, Global Diabetes walk and free diabetes screening and community awareness, Breast Cancer Awareness programme in conjunction with Heart wells group and WABIO foundation.

Others included the flag-off of health initiative for rural dwellers in conjunction with National Youth Service Corps and Igbogbo/Bayeku LCDA, flag-off of measles vaccination campaign at Ibeshe Public Health Centre, and free eye care service in conjunction with Eye Foundation Hospital.

He stated efforts on infrastructural development in areas of construction of an ultramodern market and an administrative block/office complex, grading of market streets, construction of a magistrate court, among others.

On youth/women empowerment, Bldr Daini highlighted the sponsorship of Miss Adeboruwa Beauty Pageant, skills acquisition programmes for youth in different vocations, sponsorship of youth empowerment during Igbogbo Day amongst other efforts at driving youth inclusiveness in his administration.

In the course of the parley, the Chairman also mentioned the successes recorded in other areas such as environment, welfarism, and revenue drive.
