Iconic “Dragon Ball” Creator, Akira Toriyama, dies at 68

The world of anime and manga mourns the loss of a true icon as Akira Toriyama, the legendary creator of “Dragon Ball,” passed away at the age of 68.
Toriyama’s production team announced the sad news on Friday, revealing that the renowned artist succumbed to a blood clot on the brain on March 1.
“It is our deep regret that he still had several works in the middle of creation”, said the statement attributes to Toriyama’s Bird Studio.
Toriyama’s “Dragon Ball,” first serialized in 1984, became a global phenomenon, captivating audiences with its compelling storyline and dynamic characters.
From its humble beginnings as a manga series, “Dragon Ball” evolved into one of the best-selling franchises of all time, spawning numerous anime adaptations, films, and video games.
