A senior prophet at the Celestial Church of Christ in Lagos, Aderemi Dabiri, who invited Habeeb Olalomi, also known as Portable and Alh Wasiu Pasuma, a.k.a Oganla, for the church’s praise night has given reasons for his action.

According to PM News, Pastor Dabiri’s action was to caution and reduce thuggery in the society.

His actions had earlier stirred discussions among netizens after inviting the talented artistes to the church’s Ankara/Praise night, which would hold on December 15.

However, Dabiri, while explaining the purpose of his actions, said it was a strategy to attract new converts to the church, adding that he’s employed the strategy before.

He said, “We cannot go where they sell palm wine or alcoholic drinks and ask them to accept Jesus Christ. If I don’t apply wisdom, they will hit a bottle on my head. That was why I thought of a way to bring them into the church.”

“We have gone to places where they are and they ended up beating us,” he added.

He therefore said the only way to make this possible is to use the technique, adding that this is not the church’s first time using the technique.

He said, “I also noticed that there are some notorious boys who cause trouble in the community, disturbing the authorities and engaging in cultism. I wondered how we can draw their attention so that they would have a change of heart. Most of the members of my church are new converts and it was through that pattern that I converted them.”

Explaining further, he said there are guidelines for the artists and their entourage to ensure a conducive atmosphere aligned with the church’s principles.

He therefore said Portable would be instructed not to dye his hair, adding that he would not sing vulgar song but only gospel music during the event.

Also, he said that the artiste would be cautioned not to dress inappropriately or climb the speakers, as well as smoke in the church premises.

To further prevent hindrances or altercation he said, “We have invited close to 30 military personnel to man the event.”
