“I am still very much in the race” – Ganiyu Olusegun Abiru
Against insinuations he has stepped out of the Lagos East Senatorial District race in the coming All Progressives Congress primaries scheduled for later in the month, Otunba Ganiyu Olusegun Abiru, the current Chairman of Ikorodu Development Association(IKODASS) said he is still very much in the race.
In a statement made available to BlackBox Nigeria, Abiru said he is informing the general public that he is in the race to contest for the senatorial seat of Lagos East Senatorial district under the platform of our great party All Progressives Congress (APC) ably led by Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
He stated further that his ambition to contest for the senatorial seat “was a clarion call from well meaning youths and prominent members of lagos east district. Whom after careful study of my contribution to my immediate community and antecedent in the public service, decided to pitch their tent with me as a credible candidate to contest for the position of a senator in the forthcoming senatorial election under the flagship of the APC.
“In the months past, i and my team have been making wide consultations with traditional heads, party leaders and prominent members of the division .I am strongly motivated by their overwhelming show of support, words of encouragement and prayers. I am using this opportunity to state categorically that; it is with all sense of responsibility that i accepted this call by my people, i remain deeply committed to it and not willing to trade it for any motive that is self aggrandizing.”
The Senatorial Aspirant for Lagos East Senatorial District concluded that he would be counting on the people’s support has his team draw up its programmes in the coming days.
