How veteran actor, Amaechi Muonagor died at 61

The tragic demise of the popular nollywood actor, Amaechi Muonagor has set the Internet ablaze on Sunday evening, as confirmed by reports.

Amaechi Muonagor, known for his comical roles on screen, passed away on sunday after a protracted battle with a kidney disease.

The tragic news of Mounagor’s death was confirmed by a family source on the evening of Sunday, March 24, 2024.

A native of Idemili in Anambra State, Muonagor’s demise comes as a shock to many, especially after a recent viral video surfaced online, showing a relative appealing for financial assistance to support the actor’s kidney transplant.

Despite efforts to raise funds for his medical treatment, Muonagor’s health continued to decline, ultimately leading to his untimely passing.

Amaechi was famous for his role in the hit movie Aki and Pawpaw. He also acted in Igodo, Karishika, Last Burial, and Police Recruit among others.

His death came weeks after another veteran actor John Okafor better known as Mr Ibu died.

Prior to his career in acting, he worked with the News Agency of Nigeria for some years before acting in his first movie, Akunatakasi in Taboo.

In 2016, he was nominated for AMVCA 2017 Best Actor in a comedy.
