How Nigerian player, Odenigbo, drowned in Belarus lake

Nigerian player, Kevin Odenigbo, was found dead on lake Beloye in the area of the tourist base, Verasy, on Saturday night.

According to a statement by the management of his football club, FC Vitebsk, the 20-year-old reportedly lost his life following a drowning incident.

The club said employees of the Belarusian company, OSVOD discovered the deceased’s body in the lake.

“We will publish all official information as it becomes available. We express our sincere condolences to the family and friends of the football player, as well as to all the fans of the team,” the statement added.

Odenigbo joined FC Vitebsk earlier this year, from division 2 club, NAF Rockets, making four appearances for the Belarusian top-flight club before his demise.
