The news that popular Nollywood actress, Funke Akindele and her estranged husband, Abdulrasheed Bello popularly known as JJC Skillz have parted ways came as a rude shock to many.
BlackBox Nigeria had reported that JJC Skillz announced their seperation in an Instagram post on Thursday, saying the last two years had been difficult for their marriage.
The rapper also revealed how he had to move out of their matrimonial on the insistence of his wife, adding that all efforts to resolve their differences proved abortive.
Since the announcement, social media has been buzzing with mixed reactions from Nigerians, including celebrities.
Reacting to the development, popular on-air personality (OAP), Toolz tweeted, ” We don’t live in their house, but it ‘HAS’ to be Funke’s fault because she’s a successful woman. What a lazy narrative. Please ladies don’t get too successful o.”

For renowned talent manager, Soso Soberekon, men shouldn’t allowed to be relegated to wives in their marriages.
“As a man no matter how hungry you are, never become a wife,” he wrote on Instagram.
On her part, controversial media personality, Shade Ladipo offered a prayer to all women in marriages.
“Father, may we not marry principalities that disguise as husbands IJN,” said a post on her Instagram Stories.
Actor Stanley Nweze, who appears to be disturbed the rising number of failed marriages, took to his Instagram to advise couples to work on their differences for the sake of their children.
“I know people are passing through a lot in marriages but sometimes, for the sake of our children, try to make it work because I think if your children grow in separated homes, it could be a thing in your lineage,” his post read in part.
“May we all be happy and have lasting marriages, IJN. This is very scary and discouraging for those who are yet to marry.”
