How Iyabo Ojo reacted to colleague Baba Ijesha’s sentencing

As reactions continue to trail the sentencing of Nollywood actor, Olanrewaju James Omiyinka, popularly known as Baba Ijesa, over sexual assault on a minor, his colleague in the industry, actress Iyabo Ojo has broken her silence on the development.

For several months, Baba Ijesha had been been entangled in a messy rape trial for sexually assaulting the girl who happens to be the foster daughter of comedienne, Damilola Adekoya alias Princess.

On Thursday, the embattled actor was sentenced to jail for 16 years by Justice Taiwo Oluwatoyin of the Ikeja Domestic Violence and Sexual Offences Court, Lagos.

Reacting to the judgement, Ojo, who publicly threw her weight behind the victim and her foster moster, described the verdict as a victory for victims of abuse.

The actress had taken to social media on several occasions to demand justice in the child molestation case, and even carpeted some of her colleagues who supported Baba Ijesha in the trial.

In an Instagram post on Thursday, the mother-of-two also urged other current victims of abuse to break their silence.

“To all the girl child and boy child being abused, never be AFRAID to speak up and speak out. This victory is for you. #saynotorape,” she wrote.
