In a heartwarming display of kindness and compassion, honourable Babajimi Adegoke Benson’s iCare Food Bank distributed food packs to 500 residents of Ikorodu Division, ahead of Eid Mubarak celebrations.

This monthly initiative, which started in 2016, aims to bring relief to the less privileged residents of Ikorodu Federal Constituency.

The food packs, known as “Apo Aanu,” contain essential grocery items and were distributed to beneficiaries across the six council areas in Ikorodu Federal Constituency. Many of the beneficiaries were Muslim faithfuls who will be starting the annual Ramadan fasting soon.

Speaking on the consistency of the initiative, Director-General of the I-CARE Foundation, Mayor Deen Sanwoola, noted that food is one of the basic needs of man, hence Hon. Benson’s commitment to sustaining the monthly food support.

Hon. Benson’s efforts to alleviate poverty and hunger in his constituency have been ongoing for eight years, with over 10,000 households benefiting from the monthly food outreach.

His commitment to sustaining the initiative until hunger is permanently stamped out or reduced to the barest minimum among residents of Ikorodu Federal Constituency is truly commendable.

The food distribution exercise was witnessed by top APC leaders across Ikorodu Division, party members, and members of the I-Care Foundation. The beneficiaries were drawn from various groups, including the aged, widows, unemployed youths, and people living with disabilities.

This act of kindness by Rep. Benson and his team is a shining example of the impact that dedicated public servants can have on their communities.

As the Muslim community prepares to celebrate Eid Mubarak, this timely intervention will undoubtedly bring joy and relief to many families in Ikorodu Division.
