Mwalimu Joshua Njenga, a Kenyan teacher, is currently trending on social media for an ‘unusual’ act of bravery.
He poked holes in the Buckingham Palace statement issued on Tuesday, with regard to the Prince Harry and Meghan interview with Oprah.
Njenga, in a post shared on his Facebook page, highlighted the ‘errors’ that were made in the statement and replaced the words he deemed inappropriate.
“Dear Buckingham Palace, In my morning class, we discussed the difference between active and passive writing, and we used your statement for practice. I asked my students to rewrite it using active language. Here is what they did. Have a great day. Mwalimu Joshua Njenga,” he said.
Njenga’s action has met with mixed reactions from netizens, leaving many in awe — particularly his confidence to challenge a statement written by the perceived owners of the English language.
