The Director General of the Lagos State Sports Commission, Toyin Gafaar Bolowotan has urged residents of Lagos State to help as many people as they can in the light of the lockdown initiated by the Federal Government of Nigeria as part of measures to curtail the spread of the novel Coronavirus.

Speaking to BlackBox Nigeria during the distribution of packs of noodles to 2,500 residents of Ikorodu in the 3rd Phase of his relief program, Bolowotan said the challenges posed by the lockdown warrant that people should show compassion by sharing in what they have available with others.

In the third phase of his ongoing relief program, Bolowotan through his Renewed Hope Foundation again reached out to 2,500 families in Ikorodu.

It will be recalled that at the beginning of the lockdown, Bolowotan provided food and monetary palliatives to 500 families in the first batch while he again supported an additional 1000 families in the second phase of his relief program.

According to the sports administrator, his gesture is geared towards supporting the efforts of the Lagos state governor, Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu to ensure that no Lagosian remains hungry in these trying times.

He further called on well-meaning Nigerians especially those in Lagos to reach out to people within their community in any little way they can while using the opportunity to urge Muslim faithful to pray to the country during this holy month of Ramadan.
