The popular Nigerian comedy group, Happie Boys have arrived in Nigeria on Tuesday, October 31, 2023, after being deported from Cyprus for violating their student visas.
The group, consisting of four young men, had gone to Cyprus on a scholarship offer from a Nigerian businessman in 2022.
However, they were arrested by the Cyprus immigration authorities in September 2023 for engaging in commercial activities without a work permit.
The Happie Boys are known for their hilarious skits on social media, where they make fun of various aspects of Nigerian culture and politics.
They have over 10 million followers on Instagram and YouTube, and have won several awards for their comedy.
They have also collaborated with other famous Nigerian celebrities, such as Davido, Wizkid, and Tiwa Savage.
The deportation of the Happie Boys has sparked mixed reactions from their fans and the public.
Some have expressed sympathy and support for the group, while others have criticized them for wasting their scholarship opportunity and tarnishing the image of Nigeria abroad.
