Gunmen abduct 3 church worshippers in Ogun, demand N6m ransom

Three members of a Cherubim and Seraphim church at Oba Oko in Ewekoro Local Government Area of Ogun State have been abducted by gunmen.

The assailants invaded the church during a vigil on Sunday, and abducted three worshippers identified as Ifeoluwa Alani-Bello, Adebare Oduntan and Mary Oliyide.

According to Daily Trust, sources close to the victims’ families revealed that the abductors have reached out to them and demanded a ransom of N6million.

Confirming the incident, the police spokesperson in the state, Abimbola Oyeyemi said the anti-kidnapping unit of the state police command has been dispatched to the area to rescue the victims.

Oyeyemi also reiterated the command’s warning to religious bodies against holding vigil or prayer session in isolated areas that would make their members vulnerable to kidnapping.
