GTBank Master’s Cup: Eko Boys Defeat Anwar Ul Islam 2 – 0 To Lift Trophy

On a sunny afternoon at the campos mini stadium, Lagos Island, Eko Boys High school, Mushin defeated Anwar Ul Islam, Agege to lift 2020 GTBank Master’s Cup trophy after waiting for 515 days since advancing to the final.

Eko Boys High school defeated defending Champions Kings college to advance to the final while Anwar ul Islam defeated Green spring school.

The presence of the Vice Chairman of Odi Olowo Ojuwoye LCDA Hon. Seyi Jakande who also doubled as the father of the day obviously spurred the Mushin faithful.

As the Mushin Boys scored two early goals in the first half to create a very complex situation for the Agege Boys.

Anwar Ul Islam having lost the final in the 8th edition to king’s college approach the game with so much energy.

However, the tactical instructions their opponents recieved was obviously to hit them on the counter and before 20 minutes in the game. They had been pegged twice.

Anwar ul Islam knocked out Eko Boys in the round of 16 in season 8 and revenge was obviously on the card for the Reverend Euba Boys.

After several futile attempt by Anwar ul Islam to get a goal in the second half the center referee sounded his whistle for the last time in the season And Eko Boys High school won they first master’s Cup since there maiden win in 2014.

The school now hopes to defend the trophy in the the 10th season which is billed to kick off in September.
